Local award-winning fiber artist Salley Mavor will speak about her work in a presentation titled From Precious to Poignant to Provocative. Her bas-relief sculptural scenes are created by hand with fabric, stitching, beads, wire, and found objects. In addition to being photographed to illustrate numerous children’s books, the original works have been displayed in many art exhibits on Cape Cod and across the country.
This meeting is limited to members and their guests; given the wide interest in Salley’s work and space limitations, we regret that we cannot open it to the public.
We will meet at 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 12, at The Church of the Messiah Parish and Community Center, 16 Church Street in Woods Hole. Light refreshments will be served and those attending may bring a brown bag lunch if they wish.
Please carpool if you can. Parking is available in the lot south of the Church in front of the cemetery and along the road, unless expressly prohibited. The limited number of spaces in the lot directly in front of the Parish Center should be used by those who benefit from having closer access to the building and for short-term parking to make deliveries.
New members are welcomed at any time during the year. Information about membership is available here
