This year, for the first time, WHWC will combine its two May events, the Annual Meeting and the Scholarship Tea, into one event on Tuesday, May12 from 3-4:30 p.m. The event will be held at The Church of the Messiah Parish and Community Center, 16 Church Street in Woods Hole. The annual meeting for members will begin promptly at 3 p.m. with a year-in-review presentation and a vote on the slate of officers for next year. This will be followed by the Scholarship Tea where this year’s five scholarship recipients will be presented and celebrated. Recipients and their families are invited to attend, and recipients will speak briefly about their college plans. The tea is a major fundraising event for future scholarships. Donations in the form of checks can be made out to “WHWC Charitable Foundation.” Awarding scholarships has been a part of the Club’s community service since 1927, with a total of 162 graduating seniors receiving scholarships since 1980.
Refreshments will be served.
Please carpool if you can. Parking is available in the lot south of the Church in front of the cemetery and along the road, unless expressly prohibited. The limited number of spaces in the lot directly in front of the Parish Center should be used by those who benefit from having closer access to the building and for short-term parking to make deliveries.
Special Note: At each meeting, we collect jewelry donations to sell at our two annual jewelry sales — the Woods Hole May Festival and the December Renaissance Fair. These sales raise funds for the club’s charitable donations to local non-profits.
New members are welcome at any time during the year. Membership information is available at WHWCmembership@gmail.com and here.
