November 10, 2026: 11:30 a.m. Judy Laster, director of the Woods Hole Film Festival. “Thirty-five years of film in Woods Hole”

WHWC welcomes featured speaker Judy Laster, a filmmaker and one of the originators of the acclaimed Woods Hole Film Festival (WHFF).  Launched in 1991 with five films screened upstairs at the Woods Hole Fire Station, the 2026 festival offered 127 independent films and events held at six venues over eight days.  Judy credits WHFF’s success to her lifelong connection to the Woods Hole community.  She will talk about the evolution of the WHFF and her own creative efforts, sharing special moments as well as what comes next for the festival and the Woods Hole community.

The Club will meet at The Church of the Messiah Parish and Community Center, 16 Church Street in Woods Hole. Light refreshments will be served, and attendees may bring a brown bag lunch if they wish.  Non-members are welcome to attend as space permits. Please carpool if you can. Directions and parking information can be found here.

Bring your jewelry donations for the annual fundraising sale at the Renaissance Fair, held on December 5th at Community Hall, to this meeting. Or bring them to Aminta Steinbach at the Woods Hole Public Library during business hours Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. Volunteers for the Fair will be solicited via email. Incomplete sets or single earrings are welcome, as are items that appeal to children and teens.

New members are welcome at any time during the year.  Membership information is available here.
