Local award-winning fiber artist Salley Mavor will speak about her work in a presentation titled From Precious to Poignant to Provocative. Her bas-relief sculptural scenes are created by hand with fabric, stitching, beads, wire, and found objects. In addition to being photographed to illustrate numerous children’s books, the original works have been displayed in many art exhibits on Cape Cod and across the country.
This meeting is limited to members and their guests; given the wide interest in Salley’s work and space limitations, we regret that we cannot open it to the public.
We will meet at 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 12, at The Church of the Messiah Parish and Community Center, 16 Church Street in Woods Hole. Light refreshments will be served and those attending may bring a brown bag lunch if they wish.
Please carpool if you can. Parking is available in the lot south of the Church in front of the cemetery and along the road, unless expressly prohibited. The limited number of spaces in the lot directly in front of the Parish Center should be used by those who benefit from having closer access to the building and for short-term parking to make deliveries.
New members are welcomed at any time during the year. Information about membership is available here
Members and women interested in the Club are invited to attend a welcoming tea from 3:00 to 4:30 PM on Tuesday, September 10 at The Church of the Messiah Parish and Community Center, 16 Church Street in Woods Hole.

Please try to arrive a little early for this performance by students in the Falmouth Academy’s string ensemble. The program will start promptly at 11:30 to allow the students to return to school. Norma Steiner will lead the full group of six string players and pianist, and the smaller International Ensemble featuring a string quartet with piano. George Scharr, chair of the school’s Arts Department, organized the performance. He and Mrs. Steiner are both accomplished musicians who continue to perform on Cape Cod and beyond in addition to teaching.
